What Fire Glass Rating is Required?
This should include an INTEGRITY and an INSULATION value, if no insulation rating is required you need to state “INTEGRITY ONLY” in your price enquiry.
Common Ratings are:
- 30 minutes integrity only
- 30 minutes integrity & insulation
- 60 minutes integrity only
- 30 minutes integrity & 30 minutes insulation
- 60 minutes integrity & insulation
We cannot start to price fireglass until we have the rating clearly in writing.
Datasheets & Glazing Methodology
When issuing a quote; Excel Glass will provide a data sheet that shows how the glass needs to be fitted as well and shows the test evidence for sizes. This data sheet must be followed because incorrectly glazed fibreglass will not pass inspection as it could fail in case of a fire.
Building control will usually ask you for this datasheet as part of their checks. If you have not been issued one, please ask for it when collecting your glass.
